In the 65th match at Lucknow's Ekana Stadium, Jitesh Sharma, the stand-in captain for Royal Challengers Bengaluru, was caught sharing a warm gesture with the Sunrisers Hyderabad batter Ishan Kishan after the latter completed his half-century. After hitting 50, Ishan took off his helmet and was rubbing his sweat with his sleeves. Watching that, Jitesh Sharma, who was keeping behind, took out his towel tucked to his trouser, and passed it to Ishan Kishan. Ishan readily accepted it and finished his job before giving it back. Batting first, SRH posted a mammoth total of 231/6, powered by a scintillating unbeaten 94 off 48 balls from Ishan Kishan, who was later named Player of the Match. Kishan’s innings, laced with 7 fours and 5 sixes, anchored the SRH innings, supported by quick cameos from Abhishek Sharma (34 off 17) and Aniket Verma (26 off 9). RCB’s bowling struggled throughout, with only Romario Shepherd (2/14) showing some control. Chasing a steep target of 232, RCB got off to a brisk start with Phil Salt (62 off 32) and Virat Kohli (43 off 25) adding 80 runs. However, a middle-order collapse, triggered by Pat Cummins (3/28), halted their momentum. RCB were bowled out for 189 in 19.5 overs despite brief resistance from Jitesh Sharma (24 off 15). Eshan Malinga (2/37) and Jaydev Unadkat (1/41) also contributed effectively with the ball. With this win, SRH registered a crucial victory, rsiking RCB's fate for the position in top 2.
