India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah flipped the game on its head on Day 2 of the 3rd Test at Lord's, scalping two important wickets off consecutive deliveries on the start of the second Day. He first sent back Joe Root, before getting Chris Woakes on the next ball, leaving England in deep waters. The second new ball was a miracle worker, and Bumrah made it pay. The English great Joe Root had just finished his 37th Test century, but Jasprit Bumrah had the last laugh. In the 87th over, Bumrah served one a fraction fuller outside off. Root attempted to push it but inside-edged it onto his stumps. It was the 11th instance of Bumrah getting Root out in Tests, matching Pat Cummins' record of most dismissals against the former England captain. Bumrah delivered a length ball outside off that swung away a bit. Woakes prodded at it and the ball went to substitute keeper Dhruv Jurel, and he took a clean catch. The umpire initially gave it not out, but India referred it. UltraEdge indicated a clear spike. Stump mic picked up someone saying "Awaaz aaya hai," and Shubman Gill took the review confidently. The review turned out to be the first successful DRS for India in this series and Indian skipper Shubman Gill was seen extremely happy for this.
