Mumbai Indians’ Eliminator clash against Gujarat Titans in IPL 2025 had plenty of high-pressure moments, but a rare calm-before-the-storm clip has now gone viral. Just minutes before dismissing Washington Sundar Jasprit Bumrah was caught on camera offering a moment of composure to a visibly anxious Mahela Jayawardene. Bumrah, who was at the boundary line before the start of his over, was seen assuring Jayawardene, and later, Hardik Pandya, before producing one of the best deliveries of the tournament to dismiss Washington Sundar for 48 off 24 balls. This ended GT’s best phase of acceleration and shifting the momentum back in Mumbai's favour. Hardik Pandya (22* off 9) and Tilak Varma (25 off 11) also chipped in as MI crossed the 200-run mark. In response, GT made a fighting attempt led by Sai Sudharsan’s 80 (49) and Sundar’s explosive 48 (24), but Jasprit Bumrah’s miserly 4-0-27-1 helped keep the chase in check. MI won by 20 runs, knocking out the 2022 champions and setting up a Qualifier 2 clash against Punjab Kings in Ahmedabad on June 1st. The winner of the contest will meet Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the final on June 3rd. RCB defeated PBKS in the Qualifier 1 earlier in the tournament.
