Yorkshire's James Wharton was witnessed delivering an incredible fielding performance in the 53rd match of County Championship Division One 2025 against Sussex, which earned him the title of 'Catch of the Season' by cricket lovers and experts alike. The moment of brilliance took place on the third ball of the ninth over of the opening session on Day 1. Yorkshire right-arm medium pacer Jack White delivered a short-of-good-length ball to Sussex left-handed opener Tom Haines, who pulled the ball to the square leg boundary. At one point, it seemed as if the ball will race to the boundary, but Wharton had some other ideas. The 24-year-old fielder rushed back for almost 35 meters, never lost sight of the ball, and made an incredible diving catch that left fans, players, and commentators speechless.
