Sydney Sixers' Jack Edwards stunned the Hurricanes, crowd and the commentators with his mind-boggling catch of Matthew Wade in the Qualifier game of Big Bash League 2024-25 at the Bellerive Oval. Mitchell Perry bowled the second delivery of the sixth over as a short pitch, offering a bit of room to the southpaw of Hurricanes, Matthew Wade. Wade cut it fiercely without bothering to keep it grounded. On normal days, the ball would race to the boundary rope after being smashed with this kind of sheer power. However, Jack Edwards had some other plans as he jumped towards his right to bag an absolute screamer at the backward point position. His magnificent catch not only shortened the innings of Matthew Wade for mere 4 off 7, but also left the crowd and commentators awestruck.
