Though Kishan was not in the original Jharkhand list, he decided to take part in it after he was drafted in when he communicated this to the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA), (as per ESPNcricinfo). The report also added that Kishan is likely to come back to the Ranji Trophy in the 2024-25 season after he showed interest to the state selectors. His last domestic first-class appearance came in December 2022. He pulled out of the Ranji Trophy mid-way through the 2023-24 season, a move that had far-reaching consequences, with his omission from the central contract list since he was not taking domestic cricket seriously.
