It was a special evening for the entire nation, celebrating this historic milestone. As much as the joys were flying at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai after India’s victory, sorrow was a part of this celebration too. However, fans stood up for her and celebrated with a loud cheer. Now, a clip has been going viral on social media where Indian players, including Jemimah Rodrigues and spinner Radha Yadav, can be seen consoling the veteran Marizanne Kapp after the victory. Both Indian players hugged Kapp and consoled her, seeing her emotions. Jemimah even went to Nandine de Klerk and hugged her as well. Other Indian players had a conversation with other South African players and congratulated them for their resilient efforts in the entire tournament. India posted 298 runs in their first innings, thanks to the commanding knocks from Shefali Verma (87) and Deepti Sharma (58). Later, despite some mishaps in their fielding, their disciplined bowling efforts helped them cross the winning line. Deepti Shama was the pick of the bowlers, taking a crucial fifer in the final, while Shefali stunned the entire crowd with her bowling, taking two wickets.
