A jaw-dropping fielding effort by Ibrahim Zadran and Gerhard Erasmus in the 12th match of the International League T20 between Abu Dhabi Knight Riders and Gulf Giants not only shortened the innings of Andre Russell but also created a moment of Deja Vu where the power-hitter was dismissed in a similar manner against the Vipers. On the second ball of the 15th over of the Knight Riders' innings, Aayan Khan bowled fuller length delivery to which, Russell slogged it with sheer power towards long-on by clearing his front foot. However, Erasmus, who was placed near the rope, grabbed the ball with his right hand and pushed it towards Zadran who was coming towards him from deep mid-wicket. Erasmus' athleticism, with the job done by Zadran left Russell in disbelief. During the chase, Russell hammered a flatter delivery, but he was unfortunate to find Luke Wood near the boundary, who had a great day in the field in that game. Wood pushed the ball into the play and David Payne, the substitute fielder, completed the catch. Joe Clarke was the second highest scorer for the side with 24 ahead of his name. No other batter could even manage to go past 20. The total seemed to be enough as the Knight Riders had some quality bowlers in their XI. The bowling unit restricted the Giants at 139-8, helping their side to win the game by 37 runs. Ibrar Ahmed, Jason Holder and Ali Khan all had two wickets ahead of their name, while David Willey and Sunil Narine bagged one wicket each.
