Yorkshire vs Warwickshire in the County Championship Division One at Scarborough offered an amusing sight when Hasan Ali, Sam Hain and Jonny Bairstow engaged in a humorous battle over the placement of the bails. The incident took place on the final afternoon at North Marine Road as Yorkshire desperately sought to pick up wickets and set Warwickshire a daunting target of 453. Warwickshire's batsman Sam Hain managed to stand firm and frustrated Yorkshire with a disciplined and patient innings which kept them in the contest. As Yorkshire sought to turn the tables Hasan Ali Pakistan's left-arm seamer decided on a change. Hasan Ali Tries A Superstitious Trick During one of his spells Hasan walked up to the striker's end and removed the bails and re-positioned them atop of the stumps. This is a common superstitious tactic for some cricketers hoping a simple tweak will bring a change of luck in order to be rewarded with a wicket. The sight of a quick bowler switching bails immediately grabbed everyone's attention. However, it was Sam Hain who delivered a fitting response as he smiled and placed them back exactly as they were before preparing himself for the next ball. Laughter rippled through the ground but there was still more to follow as Jonny Bairstow decided to get involved. Jonny Bairstow Joins The Fun Running in from behind the stumps Yorkshire's keeper returned and placed them where they had initially been originally when Hasan tried to switch them from the position that Hain had placed them in. The humorous exchange between the trio brought laughter and temporarily took attention from what was an important County Championship fixture. Whilst there was no lack of competitive spirit the three players proved to the fans, present that the game can offer more than a tight contest. Despite being unable to make his comeback Yorkshire's seamer was unable to find the breakthrough and instead the duel between the Pakistan bowler and the Yorkshire keeper provided the story of the afternoon.
