The left-arm spinner Harsh Dubey got the ball for the first time in the 8th over of the KKR innings against SRH in match number 58 of IPL 2025 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi and he immediately made an impact on the game. The Vidarbha spinner had a mountain of runs to defend behind him and with the target of 279 set by SRH and the KKR innings had not really got off to the start they would have liked losing Narine and skipper Rahane in the powerplay and then de Kock in the 7th over bowled by Eshan Malinga. Dubey did a good job giving away only 2 runs in the first three balls before he Rinku got hold of him off the fourth ball finally and slog swept him for six. The spinner got his revenge immediately as Rinku hit a short ball straight into the hands of the deep mid-wicket fielder. While this ball might not have deserved a wicket, the next one certainly did as the new batter Andre Russell got a peach first up pinning him on the crease and turning past his blade to catch him on the pads right in front of the stumps. Russell did not even wait for the umpire's decision and was quick to walk off even before the finger went up. From 62/3, KKR slipped to 70/5 in the space of one over by Dubey who has made a positive start to his spell.
