History was made on the evening of Sunday, November 2, in Navi Mumbai when India Women clinched their maiden ICC Women’s ODI World Cup title in 52 years. The Harmanpreet Kaur-led side defeated South Africa by 52 runs in the high-stakes final. The Dr DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai was buzzing with the victory celebration when India lifted their much-awaited title. Fans gathered in huge numbers to support the Indian team. BCCI Announces 51 Crore Prize Money for Indian Women In another great gesture coming from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCC), the board has announced that they will be awarding the Indian World Cup-winning squad with a huge 51 crore prize money. They are also likely to arrange a World Cup Trophy parade similar to the men’s team that happened after the T20 World Cup victory. However, there is not much information regarding the parade, but more information will be out soon. According to a recent report from IANS, BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia spoke to them and revealed that the parade will take place after the ICC meeting. The meeting has been scheduled from November 4-7 in Dubai.
