The Indian Women’s Cricket Team has been in the limelight after winning their first-ever Women’s ODI World Cup after beating South Africa in the high-stakes final match. After the triumph, the team headed to Delhi to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Narendra Modi, who also wished the team on his ‘X’ handle for winning the title, interacted with the entire squad along with head coach Amol Mazumdar. During the conversation, India’s top-order batter Harleen Deol asked a hilarious question to PM Narendra Modi about his skincare routine. Narendra Modi then politely mentioned that he never cared about these things, adding that it has been 25 years of serving the people of this country, and it all comes down to their blessings. Narendra Modi said: "I do not think about all that. It’s been 25 years as head of government. It’s the blessings of the people that keep me glowing.” India defeated South Africa by 52 runs in the final to clinch their historic ODI World Cup trophy. PM Modi further congratulated the Harmanpreet Kaur-led side for their efforts. Narendra Modi further added: "You have done a great job. In India, cricket is not just a game. In a way, it has become the life of the people of India. If there is good happening in cricket, India feels good and even if there is a little bit of wrong happening in cricket, the whole of India feels bad." BCCI has already announced a 51 INR crore prize money for the team, and they are also planning to arrange a trophy parade similar to the Men’s team that happened after their 2024 T20 World Cup victory. However, the final announcement and dates are yet to be made.
