The India-Pakistan rivalry made headlines once again during the Asia Cup 2025 Super Four encounter at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. But this time, it was not just for the cricket alone that made headlines, as Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf was in the news for the wrong reasons. During India’s chase, Haris Rauf was fielding at the boundary when Indian fans loudly chanted “Kohli…Kohli…” to remind him of Virat Kohli’s famous knock in the 2022 T20 World Cup at Melbourne. Feeling the heat, Rauf responded with a controversial gesture of a plane falling down. The action was intended to represent Pakistan's assertion of shooting down six Indian Rafael fighter aircraft during Operation Sindoor. This, however, is just myth. The Indian Air Force already made it an announcement that no planes were lost to Pakistan's air force. Nevertheless, Pakistan still propagates the "6-0" myth as a method of defending themselves. Prior to the Super Four match, he was even overheard shouting "6-0" while practicing. The frequent attempts to get under India's skin reveal how far Pakistani players go off-field at times to attempt to get in their opponents' heads. Having won the toss, captain Suryakumar Yadav decided to field first. Pakistan posted 171-5, with Sahibzada Farhan contributing 58 off 45 balls and Faheem Ashraf chipping in with late runs. India's bowlers, even after four drop catches, restricted Pakistan to a sub-par total. In the pursuit, openers Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma came out strong. Sharma hammered 74 off 39 deliveries, while Gill struck 47 off 28 balls. Their opening partnership of 105 runs set the platform for an easy victory. Although Pakistan got a couple of wickets later on, Tilak Varma remained unbeaten on 30* to finish the job with seven balls remaining. India's big-hitting once again proved why the competition has been one-sided for years as the Men in Blue still dominated Pakistan in major tournaments.
