In an astonishing turn of events, Hari Nishanth pulled off one of the finest catches in the history of TNPL. The brilliant grab came in the seventh match of TNPL 2025 which was being played between Salem Spartans and Trichy Grand Cholas at SNR College Ground, Coimbatore. Batting first, the Spartans posted 179 at the loss of eight wickets. In pursuit of 180, the opener of Trichy Grand Cholas, Sujay Sivasankaran, attacked on the very first delivery, smacking it for a four. However, on the very next delivery, the left-hander, again in search of a boundary, stepped out of the crease off Sunny Sandhu's outswinging delivery. The batter mistimed the shot, and the ball took the edge his bat and travelled to Hari Nishanth who was stationed at the first slip. Hari Nishanth, jumped to grab the catch but the ball brushed his fingers. The fielder then made a quick turn and ran towards the ball to complete a mind-blowing catch with the help of a timely dive. This catch of Hari Nishanth left everyone spellbound and the commentators called it as the catch of the match. In the very next over, TGC lost their other opener for a duck, followed by two more wickets in the next two overs. At the end of powerplay, Trichy Grand Cholas were reduced to 28/4, struggling in the chase of 180 against an inform bowling attack of Salem Spartans. At one point, TGC were struggling at 48-6, but J Kousik and R Rajkumar of Trichy Grand Cholas decided to give a strong fight. The duo added 88 runs in 41 balls, 59 of which came from the bat of R Rajkumar. The 31-year old five fours and five sixes in the chase which was almost turned into a dead rubber.
