Hardik Pandya, the key all-rounder of India, is gearing up for his return to cricket next month. The 30-year-old last featured for India on July 30 against Sri Lanka and is expected to join up with the team for the T20I series against Bangladesh in October. After two Test matches, India will face Bangladesh in three T20 matches on October 6, 9, and 12. The games are slated to be held in Gwalior, Delhi, and Hyderabad. Hardik took to his Instagram and shared a video on September 11, before the team announcement. He can be seen sweating it out at the gym, pumping iron and stretching. On September 10 he had shared pictures of his training in the field and batting practice too. He wasn't picked as captain for the three-match T20 series against Sri Lanka in July over. Former top T20 batter Suryakumar Yadav was named captain instead as India won the series 3-0. Hardik, though, was the favourite to take over as India's new T20 captain following Rohit Sharma's retirement from T20 cricket on June 29, following India's T20 World Cup victory. Instead of Hardik, Shubman Gill was Suryakumar Yadav's deputy. Shubman Gill debuted as captain in the T20 series in Zimbabwe in July 2024, and he was Rohit's deputy in the ODI series that India lost 2-0 in Colombo. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill will be coming back when India turn up for the next Test series, that against Bangladesh. The first Test starts on 19th September at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Also Read | Top 10 Bowlers with Highest Wickets in International Cricket
