Melbourne Stars didn’t get the start they wanted and lost 4 wickets for just 60 runs but Glenn Maxwell and Beau Webster made a crucial 88-run partnership from just 54 deliveries to make their team reach a challenging total of 156 for 5. Maxwell remained unbeaten on 58 which included three sixes and five boundaries. With that fifty, Maxwell etched his name into the history books of BBL for the most number of fifty-plus scores in the tournament’s history. Maxwell has now 21 fifty-plus scores to his name in 110 innings whereas Marcus Stoinis has 20 to his name in 107 BBL innings.
