India and Australia faced off in the second Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) in Adelaide. This Test match, being a pink ball match, has already set a tough mark for the Indian team. After winning their opening match by 295 runs in Perth, the Indian team might have come to this with some confidence but it lasted no longer as the Aussie star pacer Mitchell Starc wreaked havoc with the pink ball during the India innings. Starc started with Jaiswal, he trapped him on the very first ball of the match for a duck. The major responsibility on his shoulders was to save the Indian lineup from a batting collapse and he was looking in a good touch. He played Starc's over cautiously and then started his account with a boundary. Gill didn’t stop there, he went on to play another good stroke and collect a well-deserved boundary. But a moment from Gill’s innings has been grabbing the limelight, during the 14th over of the first innings, when Scott Boland bowled a fuller-length delivery outside the off-stumps. Gill, slammed an excellent square drive however Nathan Lyon who was fielding at the point saved a crucial boundary while diving. Gill, while attempting an on-drive on the delivery didn’t guess the length of the ball and was dismissed for 31 runs after playing 51 deliveries which included 5 stunning boundaries.
