Team India commenced their home season against Bangladesh with a Test match at Chennai. The game saw most of the star players returning - Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul, and Rishabh Pant. It wasn't a great start for either Rohit or Kohli with the bat. Both Rohit and Kohli lost theur wickets after scoring just six runs. The two stars were subjected to the eager fans at Chepauk Stadium, who were expecting such exciting innings from them, but they are still disappointed as they were dismissed very early. Though he departed early, Kohli continued to send waves of delight among the spectators when he waved out at them during Day 2 of the game. Unfortuneately, though, his stay at the crease lasted for very little period as he turned out to be one of the five dismissals for the express bowler Hasan Mahmud. India were back on track from a dodgy beginning as Ravichandran Ashwin built an innings of the match to take India to 376 all out in 91.2 overs. He batted for 133 balls, collecting 113 runs with 11 fours and two sixes, and he shared 199 runs for the seventh wicket with Ravindra Jadeja, who scored 86. Hasan Mahmud became the first Bangladesh bowler to take five wickets in a Test on Indian soil, finishing with 5/83. Coming on to Bangladesh's batting, the visitors are at 112/8 at Tea on Day 2. Akash Deep bagged two consective wickets to mark his presence while Jasprit Bumrah continued to dominate with 3 wickets.
