The Oval faithful was on their feet as Harry Brook produced a century knock to be remembered. During Day 4 of the fifth Test, he tore apart India's attack with a scorching century, turning the match on its head. Within no time, Brook pulled the game out of India's reach. Watch here: It's amusing to me how effortlessly Harry Brook scored that ton in a pressure situation with a 100+ SR in the 4th innings. Unbelievable match winning innings. — Ghazanfer (@Ghazzuu) August 3, 2025 34.1 to 62.4 was all carnage, courtesy @Harry_Brook_88Nothing to blame SIRaj though, these kinda things can/will happen in the field and india had to bounce back. — Vijay Reddy (@VijayReddy_22) August 3, 2025 Harry Brook you hero. He displayed aggressive intent from the very beginning and took no prisoners among the Indian bowlers, cutting through the field with precision and timing. On a day when England were chasing an imposing target of 374, Brook was undaunted by the challenge and played with confidence and control. He got to his century with a astute push to third man off Washington Sundar, receiving a standing ovation from a jam-packed Oval. Brook amassed 111 runs off 98 balls, including 14 fours and two sixes on a seamer-friendly surface. A expensive drop earlier by Mohammed Siraj had provided him a second lease of life. He later got out to Akash Deep while attempting to charge down the track, but his task was already accomplished. India never had plans to use spin at that point, and conditions possibly wouldn't have favored it either. The timing was poor for India, as momentum was just starting to come in their favor. England was cruising before tea, but their fortunes changed with Bethell's irresponsible shot. That brought a dramatic shift, with the ball now moving considerably more under the darkening skies. Siraj and Prasidh maintained the pressure, appealing almost every ball. Joe Root's wicket gave fire to India's flames, and it seemed like they were crawling back into the game. Just as the game was heating up, the weather came in. A dejected Bethell sat silently in the dressing room as Ben Stokes attempted to reassure him. Should England lose this game, many will remember that one shot as the turning point.
