After having a rest during India's comprehensive victory at Edgbaston, he came back with fire in this match, picking five England wickets in their first innings. His intelligent bowling prevented England from gaining a big advantage. India need 135 runs on the final day to win, but they have only six wickets left. The team, led by Shubman Gill, had a tough end to Day 4, losing four wickets in the evening while chasing 193 runs to win. Earlier in the day, allrounder Washington Sundar assisted India in bowling out England for only 192 runs. England was cruising at one stage and set for a massive score, but Sundar's stunning spell of 4 wickets for 22 runs turned the game. He bowled 12.1 overs and was tight, and now India has a target that is challenging but achievable. Bumrah also contributed significantly to the game. Following his five-wicket performance in the first innings, he snatched two more in the second innings, taking seven wickets overall in the match. His performance ensured England did not dominate the game. KL Rahul scored a hundred in India's first innings. He was assisted by Rishabh Pant, who scored 74, and Ravindra Jadeja, who contributed 72 runs. India reached the same score as England, 387 all out, leaving things even. India struggled however while beginning their chase of 193 runs. Following the dismissal of Shubman Gill for only 6 runs, India brought in nightwatchman Akash Deep to bat. He met with five balls, one of which struck his pads. England appealed, but not out was the decision from the umpire. Akash then requested the physio to bandage his leg. This infuriated the England players, as there were hardly any minutes of play remaining for the day. England captain Ben Stokes displayed his anger by clapping in the face of KL Rahul. It brought to mind how Gill had also done the same to Zak Crawley in the match earlier, when England opener Zak Crawley summoned the physio late in the day. Now, with six wickets remaining and 135 runs to be scored, the game is poised for a dramatic finish. India will look to their batsmen to stand up to the pressure and the challenging pitch on Day 5 at Lord's.
