In the 4th match of The Hundred Women 2025, Emma Jones grabbed an incredible diving catch that turned out to be one of the game's most thrilling moments in the match between Trent Rockets Women and Birmingham Phoenix Women. The match was played on Friday at Edgbaston, Birmingham in which Birmingham claimed a tight 11-run victory. However, the moment of the game for Trent came in the 68th ball of their bowling. Their bowler Alana King delivered a poor ball going down the leg side. Sterre Kalis, the batter, attempted to capitalize by flicking it to the leg side. But to her ill fortune, Emma Jones was positioned in the way within the circle, and she responded quickly by diving forward to complete a fine catch, sending Kalis to the pavilion for only 4 runs. They started well, with openers Georgia Voll and Emma Lamb scoring 19 and 55 runs respectively. But in the middle overs, the innings took a slow pace. Rapid contributions by Alisa Lister (21) and Marie Kelly (23) helped their side to reach a fighting score of 148 runs off 100 balls. In the pursuit, Trent Rockets had a poor start as their opener Grace Scrivens for just two. Bryony Smith contributed 29 runs, while Nat Sciver-Brunt took the lead in the struggle with a good 64 off 40 balls, scoring 8 fours and 1 six. However, the rest of the batting order could not perform. None of the other batter could remain long enough to aid the pursuit, and Trent Rockets were bowled short by 11 runs. Emma Jones' breathtaking grab not only sent Kalis for cheap but also raised the intensity for Trent Rockets Women on the field, although they were unable to get the victory.
