India's victory over England in the fourth T20I at Punewas surrounded by controversy after bringing in Harshit Rana, a proper bowler, in place of the all-rounder Shivam Dube as a concussion. This decision played a huge role in India's victory as Harshit Rana bagged three crucial wickets England and helped India to restrict the visitors from chasing 182. During India's innings, Shivam Dube played a crucial knock of 53 off 34 deliveries and in the final over of the innings, Dube suffered a blow on his helmet by Overton. However, he was cleared to continue in the game after the initial assessment, but India decided to bring in Harshit Rana as India's first ever concussion sub in this format. This also resulted into his debut in T20 Internationals for India. This concussion sub decision raised the eyebrows of many former English cricketer including Alastair Cook and Michael Vaughan. Cook said,"It seems absolute madness that you are allowed to do it". Vaughan wrote on X, "How can an out & out bowler replace a batter who bowls part time !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
