Legendary all-rounder and former T20I captain of West Indies Dwayne Bravo has finally declared the retirement from his career. Bravo, who is 40 years of age, posted on his Instagram handle on Thursday, September 26, announcing the closure of his over two-decade long career. He had retired from international cricket back in 2021, where he ended as the all-time highest wicket-taker in T20 cricket. Just hours after declaring his retirement, Bravo has been named as the new mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) ahead of IPL 2025. He takes over from Gautam Gambhir who had quit the team's mentor position in July to become head coach of the Indian men's cricket team. Winner of two editions of the T20 World Cup ended his career with a total of 181 wickets in IPL. Bravo also sent a video message on Instagram to the fans and management of Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Friday, September 27. The video went viral in no time, and it was out of gratitude that Bravo thanked CSK for their continued blessings and prayers as he takes up this new role with KKR. For CSK, Bravo played between 2011 and 2021. Also Read | Accident Benches Musheer Khan from Irani Cup and Ranji Trophy Matches Bravo said: "This is the champion.
