During the IPL 2026 match between Lucknow Super Giants and Chennai Super Kings on Friday, Dewald Brevis smashed a spectacular no-look six at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium. Brevis entered at a difficult period for the Chennai Super Kings with regular wickets falling. However, the young South African displayed great strokeplay and changed the tempo with his aggressive hitting. The spectacular moment was witnessed during the 11th over of the match when Shahbaz Ahmed threw the ball high at off-stump. Brevis went down on his knee and played a high slog-sweep over long on for a massive six without even looking at the ball. Akash Singh took some early wickets with a couple of regular scalps and dismissed Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson and Urvil Patel. Gaikwad managed to score just 13 runs off nine balls, and Samson scored 20 runs off 20 balls when dismissed by Akash Singh. Urvil Patel made only 6 runs with the bat. At the time of writing, Chennai Super Kings are 86/3 in 11 overs with Kartik Sharma batting on 24 off 21 deliveries. Brevis is at 18 off 9 deliveries, with a strike rate of 200, hitting 2 sixes already.
