Batting first, Bangladesh Women posted 144 at the loss of three wickets. Skipper Nigar Sultana was the leading run-scorer for the side with unbeaten 53 off 40. Sharmin Akhter also scored a struggling 37 which came off 41 deliveries. The Windies Women's skipper Hayley Matthews scored 60* off 54 and her opening partner Qiana Joseph also played a fine knock of 29 in 21 balls. However, what stole the show was the power-hitting display by Deandra Dottin. The all-rounder smashed 51* off 22 with seven sixes to help her side register an easy win against the BAN-W in the series opener. Both the teams will face each other in the second T20I at the same venue on 30th January and the hosts will be eager to clinch the series and head forward with the scoreline of 2-0.
