In a recent interview given by Chennai Super Kings' scout Vidyut Sivaramakrishnan at Ravichandran Ashwin's YouTube channel, he revealed how the franchise ruled out his suggestions on picking up the young talents in the squad for IPL 2025. While speaking to Sastika Rajendran (Sports Broadcaster) and Prasanna Agoram, also known as Pdogg (Ex SA Analyst), Vidyut, the Talent Scout of Chennai Super Kings made a big revelation. He stated that ahead of the auction, he attended matches in UP and Punjab league and found some exciting young talents like Priyansh Arya, Swastik Chitkara, Vipraj Nigam, Aniket Verma. He submitted these names to CSK, but the franchise did not consider them. Vidyut Said: "I attended the matches in UP and Punjab Leagues and recommended names such as Priyansh Arya, Swastik Chikara, Vipraj and Aniket verma. But CSK chose to sign players like Ravichandran Ashwin, Sam Curran, Deepak Hooda and Rahul Tripathi in Auction." Then, it is up to them to decide who to go for in the auction. In some teams, talent scouts are involved in the auction, but in CSK, I have nothing to do with the auction." Their only win came against Mumbai Indians in their first match of the season, played in front of their home crowd. However, in the next two matches in M.A Chidambaram and Guwahati, CSK lost against Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Rajasthan Royals, with both the defeats came while chasing the target. These defeats have raised a concern about the batting strength Chennai Super Kings. Apart from Ruturaj Gaikwad and Rachin Ravindra, all other players have failed miserably to deliver when it mattered the most. With the likes of Rahul Tripathi, Deepak Hooda, and Vijay Shankar in the side, CSK's batting order appears to be vulnerable. Chennai Super Kings will next face Delhi Capitals in a day game on their home turf on April 5, and this game will be a do-or-die encounters for some players who have failed to perform on the big stage.
