Hobart Hurricanes' Chris Jordan smashed a one-handed six in the 18th match of Big Bash League 2024-25 between Hobart Hurricanes and Sydney Sixers at the Bellerive Oval, Hobart and his shot left the commentators and fans in awe. In the last over of the Hobart Hurricanes' innings, Jack Edwards delivered the second ball as a slower full toss to deceive Chris Jordan. However, Jordan connected the ball well and swung his bat, leaving one hand to get a six down the ground. His one-handed shot travelled fair enough to give him a 89 meters six over the long-on boundary. Matthew Wade and Mitchell Owen were off to the flyers before Mitchell Owen fell short to 33 runs off Hayden Kerr's bowling. Wade and Hope too departed soon at the score of 15 and 4 respectively, leaving Hurricanes in trouble at 55 for 3 in 6.4 overs. Ben McDermott (34) and Nikhil Chaudhary (42) added 70 runs off 49 balls for the fourth wicket and their explosive innings along with a 11-ball 16 by Chris Jordan guided Hurricanes to 161 for 6 at the end of their allotted 20 overs. Jackson Bird was the player to watch in this innings as the right-arm medium pacer bagged 4 wickets for 16 runs and he was assisted by Jack Edwards and Hayden Kerr who had picked up a wicket each. The onus is now on the bowlers of the Hobart Hurricanes to restrict Sydney Sixers from chasing the total and hand them their sole defeat in this season.
