Pakistani sports journalist and Dawn News reporter Imran Siddiqui paid a visit to the National Stadium in Karachi prior to Match 6 of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025. What he reported from his visit has generated serious concerns about the viewing experience of fans at the stadium, particularly those sitting in the Wasim Akram Enclosure. In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), Siddiqui highlighted some serious issues that viewers would encounter while watching the game from this specific stand. He took viewers through the enclosure and showed how the match experience would be frustrating owing to poor screen placement, obstructed views, and absent scoreboards. His biggest concern was about the main screen positioned directly in front of the Wasim Akram Enclosure. Rather than being in front of the fans, the back of the screen was facing them due to which they could not even see anything on it. Siddiqui also indicated another small screen on the other side which would only display the live match action without a score or any statistics. Taking a tongue-in-cheek at the situation, Siddiqui said, "Bring your pen and notebook to note the score at National Stadium Karachi; otherwise, you'll be clueless about what's happening." This statement has gone viral on the internet, as everyone who follows the same issue concurred and shared their own similar experiences from earlier matches. There are four large pillars, metal grills, and not a digital scoreboard anywhere to be seen. All these hinder seeing the game and having a good time. Imran Siddiqui’s video is not just a complaint but also a reminder to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and stadium officials to improve basic match-day facilities. Fans spend a lot to watch cricket matches live in the stadium, expecting a clear view, top-notch facilities, and an enjoyable atmosphere. With Pakistan Super League (PSL) being the biggest cricket league in Pakistan, many feel that stadiums should match the level of excitement the league brings. The video of Imran Siddiqui has started an important conversation, and fans now hope that the PCB will be look into these issues and try to fix these problems at the National Stadium in Karachi.
