It was Day 5 of the second Test between Pakistan and England, and the visitors began the day at 36 for 2. The day could hardly get worse for England, as Sajid Khan and Noman Ali took key wickets. Ollie Pope (22) and Joe Root (18) both started the day sadly and put England on a terrible backfoot. Sajid was getting the satisfaction of conceding fewer runs, while Noman Ali struck to get rid of Ben Stokes, who made 37. To everyone's shock, Stokes got out of his crease but failed to gather any grasp of the ball as the bat slipped from his hands, and wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan got him stumped. The wickets continued to fall for England as Sajid and Noman didn't let the batters settle. It was Shan Masood's first win as skipper and a well-deserved one with the depth he showed in the team. Sajid took 9 wickets in the match, while Noman took 11 wickets, 8 of those came in the second innings to help Pakistan win this one badly needed. Since 1987, it was for the first time that two of the Pakistan spinners had taken a fifer in the same Test. This victory of Pakistan resulted in England's 5th defeat out of their last 6 Tests in Asia. The series is now level at 1-1 with the decider set for October 24.
