In the fourth over of the match 11 of the Big Bash League 2024-25 between Melbourne Stars and Sydney Sixers, Ben Duckett did wreaked havoc on the Sixers' Akeal Hosein. Duckett, who failed to open his account in the previous match, started off well during the Stars' innings. Akeal Hosein, the left-arm orthodox spinner, bowled a shortish first delivery of the fourth over, which was pulled by Duckett for four. The next delivery was of a similar length, but outside the off-stump and Duckett edged it for a boundary past the keeper. He smashed the third boundary with a pull over mid-wicket, followed by two reverse-sweeps fours on the fourth and fifth delivery. Akeal bowls a slower one on the last ball, but Duckett, who was already seeing the ball like a football by this time, smashed it for a lofted drive, to make it six fours in six balls. Duckett reached his fifty in just 22 balls and went on to score 68 off 29 with the help of 10 fours and 2 sixes before losing his wicket to Jackson Bird. Thomas Rogers (12), who looked good, had to take a long walk back to pavilion after Akeal Hosein got his wicket. Sam Harper also fell early at the score of 12. However, Duckett's (68) and Maxwell's (32) along with 20 of Stoinis steered the Stars' innings to 155 in 15 overs. With 5 overs left in the first innings, a score of nearly 200 is expected and it will be interesting to see how Sixers will approach the chase.
