During the 14th over of the second T20I at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Babar Azam dropped an easy catch at the mid-wicket off Haris Rauf's 2nd delivery of the over. He got his palms to it but couldn't hold on as the ball was smashed flat-batted straight by Tim David off a length ball. However, the drop catch didn't prove to be costly. On the last ball of the same over, Haris Rauf sent Tim David packing with a mistimed big hit that Abbas Afridi took an easy catch at long-on, for the third wicket of the match for the in-form Rauf.
