Ravichandran Ashwin was part of a recent cricket debate on his YouTube channel when things took an awkward turn following a reference to MS Dhoni. The veteran off-spinner, who is currently part of Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025, quickly responded with a firm “Shhh” as soon as the CSK captain MS Dhoni's name was mentioned. Ashwin's YouTube channel usually previews and discusses all the IPL matches, but recently, he has stopped reviewing CSK matches. Recently, during the discussion, a panellist praised Ashwin’s leadership in TNPL and compared it to Dhoni’s style, saying: “What I feel is that leadership is very, very important. That leader is someone like Sanju, someone like Shreyas Iyer, someone like Thala Dhoni.” Ashwin didn’t let the comment slide without stepping in. With a quick gesture and a sharp tone, he responded: “Shhh. Ssshhh.” The panellist tried to explain himself, saying, “No, you shouldn’t be the one talking. I can talk. I’m an audience member.” But the moment had already gone viral. Earlier this season, Ashwin faced backlash after his video team discussed CSK’s squad selection in the context of Afghan spinner Noor Ahmad’s inclusion. The discussion went viral on Social Media, with the fans calling out the panellist's bias over Ashwin, and many disagreed with his comments. The heated moment made Ashwin's team refrain from analysing CSK's team to avoid further friction. The situation escalated when CSK coach Stephen Fleming was asked to respond during a press conference, but he dismissed the issue, saying: “I have no idea. I didn’t even know he had a channel, so I don’t know that stuff. That’s irrelevant.” Meanwhile, CSK had recently dropped Ashwin from the playing eleven in their last game against Lucknow Super Giants.
