Ashton Agar showed extraordinary courage while batting with one hand during Western Australia's Sheffield Shield match against Victoria on Monday. Agar had injured his left shoulder earlier and still came out to bat at No. 11. Though painful, he stood firm against Victoria's bowlers to add vital runs for his team. In a last wicket stand of 15 runs, Agar proved helpful with his batting alongside Joel Curtis, who played some great cricket to score a brilliant hundred. However, Agar was dismissed for a five-ball duck, but his played his part along with Curtis' unbeaten 119 to help Western Australia reach 325 in the second innings. Victoria suffered two early blows in the 6th over of the last innings. Opener Ashley Chandrasinghe (2) and No. 3 Campbell Kellaway (0) fell on back-to-back deliveries. However, Marcus Harris and Peter Handscomb steadied the innings and helped their side to a comfortable win in just 23.2 overs. Harris remained unbeaten with 56 runs off 64 balls, striking eight fours and a six. Victoria's Skipper Handscomb equaled his score, scoring 56 runs from 61 balls as Victoria wrapped up the contest easily. The only successful bowler for Western Australia in that innings was Corey Rocchiccioli who took both the wickets and also bagged a rare hat-trick. The spinner had dismissed the last wicket of Victoria in the 1st innings followed by two more in his opening two deliveries in the second innings.
