Anshul Kamboj, a 23-year-old all-rounder from Haryana, who recently made the headlines with his 10-wicket in an innings against Kerala in a Ranji Trophy match, was roped in by Chennai Super Kings for INR 3.40 crore in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. The official X handle of Chennai Super Kings shared of video of the reaction of Anshul Kamboj and Haryana teammates after he was sold to CSK for 3.40 crore in the auction. Anshul and his mates where in a team bus and were watching the auction live. His fellow teammates were cheering for Anshul and were seen celebrating his selection for the Chennai based franchise for the upcoming season of Indian Premier League (IPL). Four teams namely, Lucknow Super Giants, Delhi Capitals, Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians went after Anshul Kamboj. However, DC and LSG moved out of the bidding war early and it was all between the two 5-times champions. Chennai Super Kings finally ended up having the all-rounder in their side for 3.4 crore. He didn't have a great outings previous season as he managed to bag only 2 wickets and score 2 runs. However, his recent performance in the domestic cricket have attracted the bids for him IPL 2025 Mega Auction. So far in the 3 matches of Ranji Trophy 2024-25, Anshul has scalped 17 wickets and is the second-highest wicket-taker for Haryana in this season after Jayant Yadav who has 23 wickets ahead of his name in 5 matches. Anshul will don the Chennai Super Kings' jersey in IPL 2025 and will play along some bigs names in international cricket.
