Delhi Capitals defeated Lucknow Super Giants by eight wickets on Tuesday in Lucknow, but it was Rishabh Pant’s batting position, and not just the result, that stole the spotlight. In a move that surprised fans and pundits alike, Pant walked out to bat at No.7, marking the first time since his debut IPL season in 2016 that he batted outside the top six. The LSG skipper lasted just two deliveries before getting out for a duck, raising questions about both his role and decision-making as captain. What truly caught social media’s attention, however, was Pant’s animated exchange with LSG's coach, Zaheer Khan, during the game. The conversation between the two was caught on camera and quickly went viral, with many speculating it was related to the batting shuffle. Pant appeared visibly intense during the interaction, which only added fuel to the fire as fans tried to break down the reasoning behind his batting demotion. embarassing from pant 🤢 https://t.co/pSTn3lkScf pic.twitter.com/snbPkwAIwl — sᴜɢᴀʀ (@Sugar_Sai_Gill) April 22, 2025 Pant clears the air on his batting position Delhi Capitals had a convincing outing at the Ekana Cricket Stadium. After that, Miller came in, and we just really got stuck in the wicket, but eventually, you know, these are the things we got to figure out and try to find our best combination going forward,” Pant said.
