Akash Deep, playing just his second Test, impressed everyone with his back-to-back wickets against Bangladesh on Day 2. Zakir Hasan was clean bowled for just 3 runs followed by Mominul first ball duck. Akash Deep disturbed the woods to dismiss the batters on successive deliveries. It was Akash Deep's fiery spell that got Bangladesh in early trouble, though Mushfiqur Rahim defended his first ball to avoid the hat-trick. He later hit a four down the gap between gully and slips as Bangladesh reached 22/2 by lunch. Earlier, India resumed their batting for the second day of the match with Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja at the crease. Hasan Mahmud wrapped up with the last wicket of Jasprit Bumrah, finishing off his five-wicket haul. India were bowled out for 376 in their first innings.
