Punjab Kings unleashed a batting blitz on Lucknow Super Giants in Match 29 of the Indian Premier League 2026, held at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium. Opener Priyansh Arya and young Aussie all-rounder Cooper Connolly put the bowlers to sword especially Aiden Markram with Punjab reaching 179/1 in 13 overs. The partnership between Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly was an absolute demolition of the opposition bowling. The duo dominated the match, reaching a massive total, with Arya remaining unbeaten on 92 off 35 balls while Cooper hit a sublime 82 off 42 balls, putting Punjab in a dominant position of going well over 250. Connolly got into the act right from the first ball with a clean straight hit over cover and the next ball was pulled over long on despite the connection not being ideal while the third ball was hit straight back into the sightscreen. Arya joined him by smashing a straight hit and over mid-wicket, completing the carnage for Markram to go for multiple sixes and hand Punjab a strong upper hand. The proteas conceded as many as 32 runs in that overs which included five sixes, one single and a wide. Shami provided an early breakthrough when he cleaned up Prabhsimran Singh for a duck, but that proved to be the only respite for LSG. Mohsin Khan, Avesh Khan and Ayush Badoni were all tonked as Arya and Connolly continued to hit out every over. Not even the part-timers such as Markram and Siddharth were able to escape the wrath. Punjab Kings would easily make 250+ at 179-1 in 13 overs, following on from their strong showing so far in IPL 2026.
