The 25th match in the Big Bash League (BBL) saw Sydney Thunder clashing against Brisbane Heat. After losing the toss, Sydney Thunder was invited to bat first. While batting first, Thunders saw the team getting a good start but eventually, they started to lose wickets in the middle overs. That’s when an incident, a monstrous 92m six from their 41-year-old batter Dan Christian against Xavier Bartlett got some limelight on social media. Christian who retired from cricket last year, had to come out to play because of an injury-depleted Sydney Thunder side. It is worth mentioning that Sydney Thunder lost their two-star players Cameron Bancroft and Daniel Sams to injuries in a nasty collision in their previous match against Perth Scorchers. Dan Christian played a small role through his bat during Thunder’s innings. He scored an unbeaten 23 off just 15 deliveries which also includes two sixes. The former Australian all-rounder stepped up for his team during a crucial time. Christian came to bat when the team was 125 for 6 and was desperately searching for a partnership. Christian smacked Xavier Bartlett for a 92-meter six on the first ball of the 19th over. With the help of a crucial 9th wicket partnership between Lockie Ferguson and Dan Christian, Thunders posted a challenging total of 173 runs on the board.
