Chennai Super Kings' new young recruit Ayush Mhatre impressed in practice with big sixes that left veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja very impressed. With CSK preparing for their next IPL 2025 game against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 24, the 17-year-old's power-hitting in the nets has given fans a reason to remain optimistic. Mhatre was roped in the team as a replacement for injured skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad. Mhatre made an impact at once, hitting 32 runs off only 15 balls on his debut against Mumbai Indians. His aggressive hitting impressed the skipper MS Dhoni, who spoke highly of the youngster's attitude. Now, Jadeja also appeared stunned as CSK's social media shared a video of the two practicing together, with Mhatre hitting balls cleanly over the fence. Prior to winning his spot in the team, Mhatre had been among CSK's mid-season trials with other players such as Gujarat's Urvil Patel and Kerala's Salman Nizar. The Mumbai teenager impressed the coaching staff with his attitude and ability to big-hit. Head coach Stephen Fleming even said that he was taken aback by how boldly Mhatre played during his first game. Watch the video here: Ayush: 🏏💥💥Jaddu: 🗣️🔊SHOTTT! So far in this season, Chennai Super Kings have not done well, getting just two wins out of eight matches. They are placed at the bottom of the points table at the moment, which makes this SRH match an important one to play. Just like CSK, Sunrisers Hyderabad have not been playing good cricket either. Dhoni and the team would be hoping that a win today would be welcome to regain their confidence. Though CSK lost the recent match against Mumbai Indians by nine wickets at Wankhede, Mhatre's fiery batting provided something to smile about. All eyes will again be on him in the upcoming match as CSK seek a comeback and remain in the playoff hunt.
