Former Pakistan speedster Shoaib Akhtar has made a revengeful comment on India, as they have denied to travel to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025, citing security concerns in the country. For that, the International Cricket Council has been forcing the Pakistan Cricket Board to accept the hybrid model that suggests hosting India matches in neutral venues. Amidst controversies, the Rawalpindi Express added fire to it, saying that PCB should receive more revenue for India's ignorance. On a Pakistan News Channel, Akhtar said, "You are getting paid for hosting rights and revenue, and that's fine-we all understand it. Pakistan's stance is also reasonable. They should have maintained a strong position, why not? Once we are able to host the Champions Trophy in our country and they are unwilling to come, they should share the revenue with us at a higher rate. That's a good call." Rather, he feels that Pakistan should visit the country and defeat them. he said, "In terms of playing in India in the future, we should extend a hand of friendship and go there. My belief has always been, go to India and defeat them there. India mein khelo aur wahi unhe maarke aao (play in India and beat them on their home ground). I understand that the hybrid model had already been signed earlier." In a recently held virtual meeting, the ICC has proposed Pakistan to accept the hybrid model; otherwise, the country would have no choice but losing the hosting rights. Pakistan seems to have accepted that, however, has given some conditions that include not touring India for any ICC tourament.
