Royal Challengers Bengaluru have parted ways with Faf du Plessis who led the team for three seasons between 2022 to 2024 after Virat Kohli stepped down as the captain post IPL 2021. We have multiple leaders in the team. 4-5 leaders are there. We have not deliberated what we need to do. We will deliberate, and we will come to a conclusion." The 36-year-old cricketer has led the franchise in a total of 146 matches in IPL. He took over the captaincy of RCB from Daniel Vettori in 2013 and his reign as regular skipper continued till 2021. However, Virat did captain the franchise in few matches in 2023 season in absence of Faf du Plessis. Under the leadership of Virat Kohli, Royal Challenger Bengaluru emerged victorious in 66 matches, while they suffered defeat in 70 matches.
