Indian star batsman Virat Kohli’s poor form has yet again pushed him to the mouth of criticism. Kohli, who is recognized as a cricket legend, is slowly losing his charm in the Test matches. Fans who had a high hope of seeing Kohli perform like he used to, have become a dream now. Virat Kohli was dismissed for just one run in the first inning of the second Test match against New Zealand. Legendary former Indian cricketer Anil Kumble suggested that Virat Kohli could have gained valuable preparation by participating in domestic cricket before the challenging Test season. Kumble believes that the experience would have benefited Kohli in the demanding schedule ahead. Being in an actual game is definitely more beneficial than just practice; it gives an upper hand. If he feels that playing earlier would have benefited him, and the team management agrees, then maybe it would have. However, I don't think we can look at that as the only reason for his struggles against spin." Virat Kohli’s recent record against spin bowlers has raised some serious concerns. Over 26 innings across Asia since 2021, he’s managed to score only 606 runs, averaging 28.85 with a strike rate of just 49.67. Even more telling, he’s fallen to spinners 21 times, underscoring his ongoing struggles. For a player once celebrated for his skill against spin, these numbers mark a troubling shift.
