Indian cricket team's batting legend Virat Kohli is targeting to shatter the record of Sachin Tendulkar when India meets England in the first One Day International. The 1st ODI of the series will be played at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur and Rohit Sharma will be leading the side against England. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will be going together, and a young opening batter Shubman Gill will come along with them in the ODI leg of the three-match series against England. Virat Kohli is on the brink of breaking one of Tendulkar's major records. Tendulkar, often called the God of Cricket, has scored 3990 runs in 90 international innings against England. Comparatively, Kohli has a total of 3979 runs across 107 innings against England in all formats. Kohli needs just 12 more runs in the first ODI to surpass Tendulkar and become the player with the most runs for India against England in international cricket. He has scored eight centuries and 23 fifties against England. If Kohli scores just one more half-century, he will have the most fifty-plus scores by an Indian against England, surpassing Tendulkar's record of half-centuries by an Indian against England. A fifty plus score will also allign him with Sachin Tendulkar at the top, with most fifty plus scores against England by an Indian. However, Kohli has been having some bad recent form. Kohli was having a bad game with the bat in the Ranji Trophy when he was bowled out for just six runs by Himanshu Sangwan. Kohli would be itching to get into his form ahead of the ODI series in England, from where he needs to make an impact for India. The series is going to be important for Kohli ahead of the Champions Trophy, where India is focused.
