An old case dating back to 2011 has finally reached its conclusion. A social media handle which Indian cricket player Virat Kohli had reported 13 years ago for foul language use has been suspended by X (previously Twitter). The incident dates back to December 2011 when Kohli replied to one such user who had reportedly abused him. Kohli replied through his official handle, stating: "@ishaan3 your account has been reported and will be deactivated shortly. Don't tweet if u want to use abusive words." Despite of the report from Virat Kohli, the account remained active for more than ten years. The same user a couple of years ago even taunted Kohli by quoting the old tweet and stating, "10 saal ho gaye Kohli bhai." (It's been 10 years, bro), to highlight that nothing had been done and his account his still active. Now, 13 years later, X has finally suspended the account. The reason for the long wait has not been made public, but users have spotted that the profile does not exist anymore. Currently, Team India is also in the United Kingdom for the five-match Test series against England. However, Kohli won't be part of the side, as the Indian batting maestro had already announced his retirement from Test cricket during IPL 2025. With him having stepped away from both T20Is and Test cricket, One Day Internationals (ODIs) are the only format where fans can still watch him play. India's next ODI series is scheduled against Bangladesh in August, and both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are expected to be part of the squad for the away series.
