As per the Fortune India list, Kohli paid a whopping amount in taxes for the financial year ending in March 2024. The 35-year-old sportsman has paid Rs 66,000,00,00 as taxes this year. In case you are getting bothered with the digit, it is Rs 66 crore. Fifth on the list of top celebrity taxpayers in India is Kohli, and he ranks first among sportspersons. His tax amount is nearly double that of MS Dhoni, who paid Rs 38 crore as taxes. Even in his retirement from international cricket 11 years back, Sachin Tendulkar paid Rs 28 crore as taxes. Making his way to the list for the first time this year is Sourav Ganguly, who paid Rs 23 crores as taxes. Other cricketers in the list include Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant, with Pandya shelling out Rs 13 crore and Pant Rs 10 crore. On the other hand, compared with his fellow Indian Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma is not even close to being the highest tax-paying sportsperson in India. Only 6 cricketers feature among the top celebrity taxpayers on the Fortune India List and Rohit is not in that list, which means that he paid below Rs 10 crore this year in taxes.
