Virat Kohli and KL Rahul have been ruled out from their respective teams in the second half of the Ranji Trophy. Virat Kohli has informed that he is suffering neck pain and has reportedly taken injections on January 8, three days after the Sydney Test. Virat Kohli told the BCCI medical staff that the pain is still present and it will be tough for him to play. Kohli was supposed to join the Delhi team for the practice session prior to the match against Saurashtra on January 23. His team, Karnataka, will face Punjab, and thus KL has been ruled out of the match. The BCCI previously made it clear that all Test players have to participate in the Ranji Trophy matches. However, valid medical proof will grant them leaves. Virat Kohli and KL Rahul have another chance to participate in the Ranji Trophy, with the final group-phase matches scheduled to begin on January 30. However, these games conclude just days before the ODI series against England, which starts on February 6. Both players are expected to be part of the England ODI squad and the Champions Trophy squad, with the official announcement set for Saturday. Meanwhile, several Test regulars are gearing up for the next round of the Ranji Trophy. Notable names include Rishabh Pant (Delhi), Shubman Gill (Punjab), and Ravindra Jadeja (Saurashtra), who will represent their respective state teams.
