In a major confidence booster before the new season, Virat Kohli has cleared his Yo-Yo test in London with a remarkable score of 21.6. Sources confirmed that officials from the National Cricket Academy (NCA) were on the spot when Kohli not only cleared the test with ease but also bettered his own personal best. The feat once again speaks volumes about his unparalleled commitment to fitness and marks the beginning of his comeback to international cricket. Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill, Mohammed Siraj, etc., the likes of them all reportedly cleared their fitness tests in Bengaluru. Kohli, however, also did the same but in London under sanctioned supervision, according to a report in Dainik Jagran. The majority of the players currently in the running are done with their fitness tests, but some still remain because of injury or availability. Players of India's T20I team are expected to be flown to the United Arab Emirates in the near future for the Asia Cup 2025 competition. Kohli is not among India's team for the Asia Cup, being hosted in the T20 format this season, since he has retired from the shortest version of the game. According to the report, Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant are some of the top stars who will have their tests conducted this month. Phase 2 of the tests is also to be carried out, in which players like KL Rahul, Akash Deep, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Ravindra Jadeja, and Rishabh Pant will reportedly be tested. It has also been indicated that Virat was the sole player whose test was conducted outside India. None of the other players requested such an exemption. When questioned about Virat's case, a BCCI official has reportedly said that the legendary cricketer would've taken approval for making such a request. But the report further adds that it is not yet known whether any other player would get this exemption or not. Witnessing the men's national team's lengthy injury list, the BCCI and the management of the team have turned more serious about fitness. The board has now set a rule that every cricketer should go through a fitness test before being picked for any side.
