The Universe Boss has been bossing the top scorer list of the tournament with a massive 791 runs from 17 matches, averaging 52.73 and having a strike rate of 88.77. Gayle registered three centuries and one half century to his name. All Virat Kohli needs is 263 runs to surpass Gayle to become the highest run-getter in the Champions Trophy. The 36-year-old Virat Kohli has played 13 matches in the Champions Trophy and has scored 529 runs with an average of 88.16. His strike rate touches 92.32, having five half centuries to his name. However, he was just four runs short of a century in the semifinal clash in 2017. It was the match against Bangladesh led by Mashrafe Mortaza at Edgbaston in Birmingham, where Kohli scored 96 not out, his highest score in the tournament.
