The Delhi Capitals (DC) spin bowler Vipraj Nigam had a memorable moment in his cricketing life when he got a chance to bowl against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star batter Virat Kohli on April 10 in their IPL 2025 match in Bengaluru. It was his first time bowling to Kohli in the league and the memory would be hard to erase from anybody's memory. Kohli was careful in the last over but then hit pretty big six over long-on in Vipraj's next over. However, bounce back once again, the young spinner deceived Kohli three balls later and sent him back to the pavillion scoring just 14 balls and 22 runs on the board. On the match day, Vipraj claimed impeccable figures of 2/18 in four overs, thus being the man who triggered the middle-order collapse of RCB. He has had a momentous debut IPL season: five wickets from four games at 20.20 and an 8.41 economy rate. He had quite a contribution with the job earlier in the season with a critical 39 as DC gulps down LSG in their high-scoring chase to win 210. The said performance of Vipraj ensured DC their fourth consecutive win this season. Although the start of DC was shaky against RCB, with the home side racing away to 61/0 in the first four overs, they made a good comeback. Axar Patel's squad maintained their composure and clamped down during the middle overs, allowing opponents RCB to a paltry total of 163/7. However, KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs put together a brilliant, unbeaten partnership of 111 runs off just 55 balls to guide DC to victory. Rahul's scorching 93* off 53 earned him the Player of the Match award. Victory placed DC at number two on the points table with eight points, just behind Gujarat Titans (GT), who also have eight points but a better net run rate. Even though DC still has one game in hand, it remains the only unbeaten side in the whole tournament until now.
