After almost eight years of retirement from international cricket, fans witnessed a glimpse of vintage Yuvraj Singh as he took an outstanding acrobatic catch off his teammate Irfan Pathan in the International Masters League T20 2025. On February 22, at the DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai, Yuvraj leaped in the air and fell backward to get hold of the ball, flying away for a six. During the eighth over of Sri Lanka Masters' run chase, Lahiru Thirimanne aimed to take on left-arm pacer Irfan Pathan. He lofted the ball toward long-on, where Yuvraj Singh was positioned. The 43-year-old all-rounder tracked the ball as it sailed over him, leaped, and managed to grab it with both hands. Despite falling to the ground, he remained inside the boundary, sending the crowd into a frenzy. Thirimanne stood in disbelief while Yuvraj's teammates, including skipper Sachin Tendulkar, rushed in to celebrate the stunning catch. Catch all the action LIVE, only on @JioHotstar, @Colors_Cineplex & @CCSuperhits ๐ฒ ๐บ#IMLT20 #TheBaapsOfCricket #IMLonJioHotstar #IMLonCineplex pic.twitter.com/mN2xBvotF2 — INTERNATIONAL MASTERS LEAGUE (@imlt20official) February 22, 2025 Thirimanne contributed 24 runs off 17 deliveries. Meanwhile, the left-arm pacer struck twice in his next over, removing Sangakkara and Chaturanga de Silva on back-to-back deliveries. He completed his four-over spell, conceding 39 runs. Despite a half-century from Sangakkara and quickfire contributions from Gunaratne (37 off 25), Jeevan Mendis (42 off 17), and Isuru Udana (23 off 7), Sri Lanka fell short by four runs. They ended their innings at 218/9 in a high-scoring thriller.
